My name is HAIBO XU(雨青). I grew up in Guangdong, China and immigrated to Canada at 18 years old. I graduated with an illustration major from Alberta University of The Arts. My works are inspired by traditional Chinese expressionistic sensibilities and Western design theory, and I am interested in mixing traditional media with digital media, especially since I am adept at Chinese ink wash painting techniques. I am very keen on creating some works, which are combined with the culture between Eastern and Western.
I am a freelance illustrator and graphic designer. I create illustrations for children’s books, picture books, book covers, magazines, product packages, as well as other advertising assets.
